Asia on the map

The map numbers 48 countries, all UN members, including Russia, which straddles two continents and is shown whole. Dhekelia Cantonment, Palestine, Hong Kong, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, United Nations Buffer Zone in Cyprus, Siachen Glacier and 5 more are drawn but not numbered: territories of another country or non-UN members.

Russia is the largest country (6,612,070 sq mi) and Maldives the smallest. People's Republic of China has the most neighbors: it borders 16 countries.

9 countries are landlocked: Afghanistan, Armenia, Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. 6 are island nations with no land borders: Bahrain, Japan, Maldives, Philippines, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.

Number key

Numbers follow alphabetical order. Armenia, Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Cyprus, East Timor, Georgia, Israel, Jordan and 11 more are too small for a number on A4 but keep their number in the table; A3 and Tabloid leave more room. With each country’s capital, for the capitals version:

How do I print it on US Letter paper?
