Cuba on the map
Cuba is divided into 15 provinces and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud, 16 in all, covering about 111,000 km² (42,900 sq mi) as measured on the map. The largest is Camagüey (15,900 km² (6,130 sq mi)) and the smallest, La Habana (734 km² (283 sq mi)): Camagüey is about 22 times bigger.
The capital is Havana, in La Habana. The capitals version marks the capital of each province.
What each province borders
Holguín borders the most provinces: 4 (Las Tunas, Granma, Santiago de Cuba, and Guantánamo). Isla de la Juventud borders no other province: it is an island or archipelago.
Cuba has no land border with another country.
Every province has a coastline.
Number key
Numbers follow alphabetical order, from 1 (Artemisa) to 16 (Villa Clara). La Habana is too small for a number on A4 but keeps its number in the table. Areas are measured on the map and approximate; “Borders” counts neighboring provinces.
