Norway on the map

Norway is divided into 15 counties (fylker), covering about 315,000 km² (122,000 sq mi) as measured on the map. The largest is Innlandet (51,700 km² (20,000 sq mi)) and the smallest, Oslo (462 km² (178 sq mi)): Innlandet is about 112 times bigger.

The capital is Oslo. The capitals version marks the capital of each county.

What each county borders

Buskerud borders the most counties: 6 (Oslo, Akershus, Innlandet, Vestfold, Telemark, and Vestland).

Norway borders Sweden, Finland, and Russia. 6 counties border Sweden: Akershus, Innlandet, Nordland, Østfold, Troms, and Trøndelag. 2 counties border Finland: Finnmark and Troms. Only Finnmark borders Russia.

14 counties have a coastline and 1 don’t: Innlandet.

Number key

Numbers follow alphabetical order, from 1 (Agder) to 15 (Vestland). Oslo and Vestfold are too small for a number on A4 but keep their number in the table. Areas are measured on the map and approximate; “Borders” counts neighboring counties.
